Podcasts by High School Journalists: RDHS Crown

What is your name?
Kathleen Houston

Where can your podcast be found?
http://crown.rdhs.org/?s=podcast

Please describe your podcast and why you thought it would be a good topic to have a podcast on.
Just purchased podcast equipment and had 2 seniors who ran with the idea

How has the podcast changed since the first show? What are some things you’ve learned and done to make it better?
Moved equipment to quiet space.

What tools do you use to record, edit and publish your podcast?
We have a Rodecaster Pro Suite with 4 Rode microphones and stands along with 4 headphones. We have a soundcloud account and then embed into our digital newspaper site: crown.rdhs.org hosted through Student Newspapers Online (SNO)

What advice do you have for others looking to make a podcast?
Do your research. This set-up works best for us, but our studio has been made into a school storage unit because of COVID, so we haven’t podcasted this year.
