PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs Launches New Learning Platform

PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs introduced its StoryMaker site last week after three years of planning and development.

StoryMaker is a free, self-directed online curriculum and digital tool for teachers and other educators interested in working with SRL’s journalism and storytelling materials. Included in the site are all of SRL’s lesson plans and other resources, like the expanding Level-Up series.

Also available are media-making challenge prompts and projects that get students across the country engaged in current topics and issues; in addition, students may find their work published on national and local public media outlets.

Lessons and projects clearly outline materials needed and feature standards alignment, resources and more. Watch the video for more details.
