imageedit_2_2150821611Yesterday, I had the extreme privilege of visiting Washington High School in Washington, MO, to deliver the great news that the Journalism Education Association has selected the recipient of 2016 JEA National High School Broadcast Adviser of the Year, and it is Michelle Turner.

Michelle advises Blue Jay Journal TV and you can follow their tremendous student broadcasting work on Twitter @BlueJayJournal.

“She is an outstanding adviser and an incredible person. She has taught me so much about journalism,” said Senior Shannon Belsher. “I have learned strong storytelling skills that aim for the heart thanks to Ms. Turner.”

Michelle will be honored at the national convention in Los Angeles in April 2016. Also being honored in LA will be Gil Garcia of Stephen F. Austin High School in Austin, Texas, who was named a Distinguished Adviser.
