How to follow the Seattle JEA/NSPA convention with the #hsjSEA hashtag, whether you are on Twitter or not

Not able to make it to Seattle but want to see what people there are talking about? Are you going to Seattle and want to see what people are buzzing about or who else is there? For those who are using Twitter and tagging their tweets with the #hsjSEA hashtag, you can follow along with all the action whether you are there or not. You can even follow along if you’re not on Twitter. Why would you do that? Many people will be Tweeting tips and tricks they are learning. I generally learn just as much from the Twitter feed at conferences as I do at the conferences themselves because it allows me to be multiple places at once.

If you use an app on your phone like Hootsuite, you can just create a stream to follow all mentions of the Hashtag. Here is a Youtube video that shows you how to create a stream on Hootsuite.

Here’s another video that explains hashtags a bit more and shows you how to follow along, whether you are on Twitter or not.

One great place to follow along on Hashtags if you’re not on Twitter is by going to Hashtags.org. Go ahead and search #hsjSEA and see what you can find already.

A hashtag is often used on Twitter to categorize a tweet and allow for others to find it easily. Here’s what Twitter has to say about hashtags if you’re unfamiliar.
