HSBJ and National Press Club Offer Web and Video Training for Teachers

HSBJ is partnering with The National Press Club in Washington D.C. to offer a series of online classes for both professional teachers and professional broadcasters. Each course is about 10 hours of work, including class time and independent work. While the class itself runs three days, students will have ten days to complete their work assignements. For teachers, Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) are available from Kent State University.  Courses offered in January and February will be: Getting Into Multimedia 101, Getting Into Multimedia 102, Getting Into Multimedia 103, Social Media Tools in Your Newsroom and Classroom, Shoot Fast and Edit Easy with FlipVideo.

Aaron is in his 26th year of advising student media. He is currently the Director of Student Media at Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles, Missouri. He is the Journalism Education Association Digital Media Chair and co-Director of Media Now. He is the 2023 JEA Teacher Inspiration Award Winner and is a former Dow Jones News Fund National Journalism Teacher of the Year.
