Check out this cable reel if you’d like to take care of your audio/video cables a bit better

I’ve been working to level up my video broadcast knowledge the past few years and much of the last few months I’ve been focusing on cables, cable management and connectors.

While I’m still not proficient in properly winding up a cable and storing it, I did get recommended these JackReel cable reels as an option to use for storing cables.

I ordered three and got them in the mail this week and they actually worked pretty slick. They had a little clasp on each side for me to hook the ends on to and within a few minutes, each of my 150-foot SDI cables were saved from the rats nest they were existing in and wound up nicely on these reels.

Cables need to be stored properly to keep kinks from getting in the lines and rendering them useless.

You can find the JackReel cable reel that I purchased and am using here.

While these will work for now, I will work to level up on winding the cables by hand and share that milestone when I finally advance to proficient.
