Broadcasting Tips for Announcing Sporting Events

I had a former student visit my class last year to talk to my livestream team. He had gone off to college and quickly worked his way up in the broadcast ranks there. He reached out and offered to come back and help the staff. I took him up on the offer thinking he was just going to come and talk, but in true fashion to his days as an editor for me, he came and over delivered.

Not only was his personal presentation to the team well planned and executed, he also had a handout for them going through much of what he said.

He said I could share the handout here with you all as I thought it would be a great starting point for beginning announcers (and advisers) to consider when getting behind the mic. I’ll include the handout here as a PDF you can download. If you find it helpful, give its creator, Dominic Hoscher, a shout.
