HiLite student editor uses data and offers tips to make online coverage better
My name is Adam Gostomelsky and I am a current senior at Carmel High School (Carmel, IN) as well as the current sports editor for the HiLite Newsmagazine. I have always been proud of the work that I, along with my fellow staff members, have done for the HiLite, however, I have also noticed the lack of enthusiasm for spreading our content to our viewers in the most commonly read form of news today, online.
So, for my AP Research project, I decided to research HiLite’s online readership and how to improve it. The video above is a summation of my findings that were subsequently presented to the HiLite staff (I have even shared the presentation below).
After data from the resulting procedural changes has been collected, it will be used to determine what worked and what didn’t work and what we can do to change it for the next year’s staff.
