The Eastern Illinois University Journalism Department is partnering with the McCormick Foundation, the Illinois Press Foundation, the Illinois JEA and the Department of Communication at Roosevelt University to offer a free High School Educators Multimedia Workshop Friday-Sunday, Oct. 23-25 in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg.

Any adviser is welcome to apply, although we expect most attendees will come from Illinois or surrounding states. The workshop will offer 13.5 CPDU to Illinois teachers. Stipends also are available to pay substitutes for the missed class day on Friday.

Aaron is in his 26th year of advising student media. He is currently the Director of Student Media at Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles, Missouri. He is the Journalism Education Association Digital Media Chair and co-Director of Media Now. He is the 2023 JEA Teacher Inspiration Award Winner and is a former Dow Jones News Fund National Journalism Teacher of the Year.
