School podcast starts with once a quarter publication goal

Advisers who might be encouraging their publication students to create audio or podcasts might consider using this model for starters.

At Borah High School in Boise, Idaho, teachers are taking the lead, with the hope that students will eventually take charge.

Although the teacher who initiated the idea for the school-wide podcast had approached me with the idea that my newspaper might consider producing it, after three attempts to make it happen, I went back to the teacher to tell him that perhaps we need to try another way.

Five teachers/librarians and one newspaper student have had one meeting to discuss  ideas for the podcast.

The group of individuals include those who can supply audio advice, a studio to podcast, a millennial adult, a newspaper adviser and a newspaper student.  Along with discussing ideas for the podcast, the committee set a goal to publish a school podcast once a month.

See the link above for any ideas that might help, and more from me once a first podcast is produced.
