JOUR_UA 22 The Multimedia Toolkit.

Tuesday, Thursday | 2PM – 5PM

Four college credits.

Open to pre-college (rising juniors and seniors) and college students.

This intensive multimedia course is designed to introduce the basic skills required to report, shoot and edit a short story that can be incorporated in a TV broadcast/webcast, a podcast, or a website. Students will learn how to shoot video and stills using small-format digital video cameras and how to edit a 3- to 5-minute long package/slideshow using Final Cut Xpress. Hard work and fun guaranteed, with New York City’s East Village as your lab.

Aaron Manfull

Aaron is in his 26th year of advising student media. He is currently the Director of Student Media at Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles, Missouri. He is the Journalism Education Association Digital Media Chair and co-Director of Media Now. He is the 2023 JEA Teacher Inspiration Award Winner and is a former Dow Jones News Fund National Journalism Teacher of the Year. He is one of the authors of the textbook "Student Journalism and Media Literacy." You can find him on X and Instagram @manfull. He's a proud father. A transplanted Iowan. And an avid Hawkeye Fan.
