10,000 Words: The Journalists’ Guide to Analytics

Mark Luckie, author of the 10,000 Words blog, posted a nice piece back analytics 101 piece back in August titled “The Journalists’ Guide to Analytics.” While this post focuses on Google Analytics, he also links to a list of other options out there. The majority of the post’s content though helps break down analytic terms and gives you an idea of how each of the analytics can help you determine how consumers are viewing and finding your site. Here he talks about everything from what bounce rate is to what the average time is for people to stay on a news site.
