JEA’s Adviser Institute – Las Vegas, Nevada – July 7-10, 2014

JEA’s Advisers Institute brings journalism teachers from across the country together for a week of adviser-specific training and networking.

DATES

The 2014 JEA Advisers Institute runs Monday, July 7 – Thursday, July 10. Monday’s events include check-in from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., with exhibits running from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and an opening reception at 7:30 p.m. Instruction lasts until 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, with optional entertainment Wednesday evening. Instruction ends at noon on Thursday.

LOCATION

The Westin Las Vegas is the official hotel of the Advisers Institute and provides excellent quality at an incredibly low room rate. We encourage all attendees to stay at the Westin, which will house all conference activities.

Room rates: $99/night (rates are available if you book by June 6, 2014).

JEA member: $155

Nonmember: $170

Registration fees cannot be refunded, but JEA will allow registrations to be transferred to other individuals. We accept payment online via Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, eCheck or PayPal. You can also call in your credit card to JEA at 785-532-5532. Checks and purchase orders can be used to pay for registration by clicking the Show other payment options” link underneath the “Register” button, then selecting the “Pay Offline” option. You can the elect to “Pay By Check” or “Send Invoice.”

Aaron Manfull

Aaron is in his 26th year of advising student media. He is currently the Director of Student Media at Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles, Missouri. He is the Journalism Education Association Digital Media Chair and co-Director of Media Now. He is the 2023 JEA Teacher Inspiration Award Winner and is a former Dow Jones News Fund National Journalism Teacher of the Year.
