MediaShift: 10 Reasons our Student Newspaper Blog Stinks by Dan Reimold

Paul Kandell of Palo Alto High School posted a link to this article back in December on the JEA Listserv. It’s from the mediashift website and is written by an adviser of a college’s print and online editions. While the author, Dan Reimold, speaks about his staff’s ‘blog’ the entire time, the word is easily interchangeable with ‘website.’

He reiterates many tips we’ve given on this site and adds a few new ones as well. I think it’s a good read for any online staff. It can help give you some things to think about if you’re starting out, or it can provide a nice checklist for you to gauge how your staff is doing in different areas.
