For around $200, the Flip is an extremely affordable and easy way to start incorporating video into your website. The portable camera records up to 60 minutes of footage and the picture quality is surprisingly clear, sporting a resolution of 640×480 (1280×720 for the HD model).

Flip takes a “what you see is what you get” approach, meaning that there is no zoom function. But for what it does, it couldn’t be simpler. Footage is easily transferred to a computer using a built-in flip-up USB port (which also doubles as a battery charger on the Mino models).  The camera comes pre-loaded with Flipshare, its own editing software, which performs basic editing functions including trimming clips and taking still photo captures from video. Video can also be edited in other programs such as iMovie and Windows Movie Maker.
