Michelle Turner Receives National Broadcast Adviser of the Year Award

Michelle Turner, this year’s recipient of the JEA National Broadcast Adviser of the Year, gave her acceptance speech at the Adviser Luncheon at NHSJC in Los Angeles this weekend.

Her presentation included video interviews with her students, and a passionate speech based on the themes of love and thankfulness.

Michelle advises the Blue Jay Journal at Washington High School in Washington Missouri.

The Distinguished Broadcast Adviser of the Year, Gill Garcia from Austin High School in Austin Texas, was also present to receive his plaque.

This is the third time a National Broadcast Adviser of the Year award has been bestowed on an outstanding broadcast journalism adviser.  The award is made possible with generous support from the Roy H. Park School of Communication at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY.

Applications for next year’s award are currently open, and due by October 15, 2016.
