Is the TV Show Format Becoming Irrelevant?

“We need to be doing something different. We need to be going in the direction where TV is headed.”

That concept has been rattling around my head for the past few months. Some days, I just think we need to abandon the traditional 28:30 (or whatever) format and focus on getting my students’ stories in a la carte format.

This is not a new concept by any stretch. My colleague, Charlie Huette over at Blue Valley North HS in Kansas, wrote about this about a year ago.

I’ve been feeling the same way, Matt. Glad my district chose this year to finally build us that state-of-the-art studio.
