Apps for the student journalist: iPhoto

iPhoto works with iOS devices

What: iPhoto

Platform: iOS
Cost: $4.99
There are lots of great photo editing apps out there, however, iPhoto is one that does everything I want and need it to do. While filters and effects are nice, they aren’t really photojournalistic. When I’m looking for a photo editing app, I’m looking for one that easily allows me to crop, correct exposure, dodge and burn. iPhoto allows me to do all these things easily.

In addition, I can add caption information, check metadata and share directly from the app to a variety of places ranging from Twitter and Facebook to Email and Flickr.

While $4.99 may seem like a lot of money to shell out for an app, iPhoto is one you’ll be glad you paid for.
